HOPKINTON - RHODE ISLAND

Incorporated in April 1757, Hopkinton is a historic town that is located near the eastern border of Connecticut and the town of Westerly to the south. Hopkinton consists of four villages, Ashaway, Bradford, Hope Valley, and Rockville (each having its own post office). Hopkinton has plenty of open space for various hiking trails, as well as various rivers and ponds for fishing and canoeing. Hopkinton was named in honor of Stephen Hopkins, who was then Governor of Rhode Island, and also a signer of the Declaration of Independence.

Form of Government: Five-member Town Council headed by a Council President.
Council Meetings: The first and third Mondays of each month at 7:00 pm.
Financial Town Meeting held May 1 to May 15 as set by Town Council.
